LIBERTY ROSE CHARITY MATCH

I took this from the programme for Sundays match as we possibly will not have enough time to digest the full amount of work that Roy been putting into this Day,

A Few Words from Roy

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has helped in the organising of this Fundraising event for the Liberty Rose Trust, especially Dave & Jackie Hamilton who without their help I could never have done this.

This was a bit of an idea between us to raise funds for the Liberty Rose Trust, as a lot of you know while organising the event I myself have been diagnosed with incurable Lung Cancer, which has made this game a lot more important to me now and I know you all will make this day a success.

Also there has to be a massive thank you to Roger Davies for bringing the Ex Rams Legends to play us, Gresley Rovers for allowing us to host the event, Dave Foster for his help with the programmes, Johnson Controls for sponsoring the programmes,

Greenfield Royal Oak FC, and my group of friends who have given up their time to take part in this game, every-one who has donated prizes for the raffle, and also Carl and Dawn from the Liberty Rose Trust, Lets hope we can make Liberty Rose a nice amount of money today.

My final thank you is obviously to all of you who have come through the turnstiles today to help us raise this money; I hope you enjoy the day

Massive thanks to you all

Roys is the most modest Man I have ever had the privilege to be associated with, as normal we will turn up on Sunday for a game of Football unaware what goes on behind the scenes and while this was being organised our Football Club is running smoothly,

We all owe it to Roy to make show our commitment to this game and make it a memorable occasion,

We are playing the first half and I would like to see the kind of Football we are capable of, there will be a large crowd possibly bigger than any of you have played before,

The Rams Legends will show the commitment to win, for their pride they will not turn up for a kick about,

Let’s show the crowd a display of Football that will make Roy proud and show what Greenfield Royal Oak are all about, and make sure we have a great Day

Cup Campaigne Day 2

 THOUGHT OF THE DAY

My drinking team has a soccer problem

David jp McIntosh

The New Year started very slowly as our first match was against Moira in the league on the 24th of January even though not a cup game this match deserves a mention as the outstanding 9-2 victory showed how far we were moving technically the football was out standing but unfortunately we were give a glance into the refereeing standards we were about to see in the New Year,

The positives to be taken from the game was the outstanding way you over came this problem we went in 2-1 down and to a man you all carried out our instructions on how to handle the situation and we went on to score 8 second half goals.

Our next cup match was against Whittington in the Divisional Cup, we knew that Whittington would have issues facing us and we played exactly as they expected and came away with another 2-1 victory, which saw us through to the Semi-Final of the Cup

Next was the Junior Challenge Cup where we faced Belvedere F.C. Belvedere were running away with their League and had just been beaten by Willington in the Midland Co-Op Cup 5-2.

Belvedere were a very good side and it was to be one of those games where we did everything but score and they came away 3-2 victors.

After the match it was discovered that they played a player who was not on the team card, only the league know what happened but they were now beginning to baffle me “ how difficult it is it to put the players name on the card-unless there was a problem with him”?

We were now out of this Cup and shortly after Belvedere dropped out of the league a simple football solution was to let us go through but the league decided to give Shobnall Rovers a bye into the semi Final.

Possibly our biggest game of the season had arrived when we were matched against Willington.

Bryan and myself were working all week on the tactics to beat them, which were an outstanding success we planed to get them rattled, and give their back 4 little time on the ball it was working perfectly the side at the top of the Premiership could not cope with us.

Unfortunately we never allowed for one factor “Shaun Landslow” I would have rather been beaten 10-0 because we played badly than suffer what he put our Team through.

We should have take stock from the Moira game and ignored him, but when a Referee lets a player strike another and is left on the pitch we were fighting a loosing battle. I started playing football at the age of nine so I consider 50 years in Football gives me the right to comment on a disgraceful display of Refereeing and I will not apologise for calling the truth. Shaun was possibly being assessed so the good news is he should be doing Junior Football next season.

On a positive we could not have been any prouder than we were on that day Greenfield Royal Oak had played the best in the league and had shown what we were capable of.

 SEMI FINAL

The Following week was our Cup Semi-Final and it was important to lift you all for this match after the disappointment at Willington, this was now our last chance for Cup success and after previous years being beaten in semi-finals this game has extra importance if we slipped up again we would be the nearly team, which is very hard to get by as extra pressure is there again next season. Our game plan was different which again you responded to but more Important there was no hangover from the previous week and you all played with a professional attitude, which saw us, reach the final of the Divisional Cup.

 Tomorrow our Cup Final

NEW LINK AT TOP THE TEAM TALK I WISH I HAD MADE

Moira on Sunday will be a difficult game but in a football sense it was our turning point of the season when we played them earlier,

Bryan and myself took a chance on a formation, which did seem negative but you all performed exactly as we had hoped,

I changed the formation again against Whittington and I could not have been more proud we have had our ups and downs this season with results but what ever the outcome as a team you have trusted us when we have asked you to do something different.

This season I was determined to bring more into you game as a team and also as individual players It has been hard work for all of us but you have all improved your game, It has been easier for myself as Bryans input gave me extra time to look at other things.

As you are all aware Bryan will not be available for most of our remaining Sunday matches, but I can assure you all that his input is still there and hasn’t changed

BELOW IS A SMALL SECTION OF THE REPORT I WROTE WHEN WE LAST PLAYED MOIRA

It would be unfair to mention any one player, as that was without any doubt the best team performance I have ever seen from Greenfield.

Moira had no answer to our midfield and on the few occasions that they did break through our defence was outstanding, when this system is played correctly as it was today their back four had to look after one man giving us extra in midfield and to add to that four of our midfield player got on the score sheet.

To have a loner striker scoring a hat trick and six more goals coming from midfield was outstanding.

Our goal tally of 3 from Shane, another hat trick from Batsey along with Taffy Darren and Tyso gave us exactly what we deserved.

Our season is not over and we cannot switch off, I am determined that we go unbeaten when we achieve my target of 8 games without defeat we can all say it was a worthwhile and a successful season.

Another comment from our site

Hi Dave,
It was a pleasure reading your stuff; I found it very inspirational, as, I am sure, and do your players. I loved your quotes – I almost “borrowed ” them lol.

Roy added this link thought you might enjoy it!!

another 3 points

TODAYS THOUGHT

It’s not whether you win or lose – but whether I win or lose.

~Sandy Lyle

We will be going into Sundays match with a few injuries but I am positive that this will not disturb our focus on winning the match,

Through the season we have run on a small squad, which meant that most of you have played in numerous positions,

We will now see the benefit from this, I have always believed that Footballers should be able to play anywhere around the park,

I know we will come through this and collect another 3 points and go on to 4 games unbeaten.

We are then half way to my target I won’t let you relax until the final whistle of the last match

Dave,

Thanks for visiting my blog. What an inspirational blog you have – your players are really lucky.

I wish you luck for the rest of the season.

the season is not over

TODAYS THOUGHT

Winning isn’t overrated – it’s your acceptance of being rated.

  ~Carrie Latet

Last nights win against Yoxhall was very satisfying on two accounts,

First I was very pleased with the attitude, which continued from the Whittington game, on many occasions this season we have fallen back after a good performance but last night everyone in the squad put in a sound and professional shift,

It could have been difficult with all the rushing around to get there and then the knowledge that playing the bottom of the league side could have been easy but you all performed to the level we have been asking.

Secondly the 3 points saw us move up one position towards my target of finishing 5th.

A victory on Sunday will establish us firmly in 7th as well as moving onto a 4 match unbeaten run,

Our second target is to finish the season 8 matches unbeaten, Sunday against Moira will put us half way there, but make no mistake we cannot take our foot off the gas as last week they beat Blackfordby and they will be out to revenge the 9-2 defeat of our last game.

Sunday will also be difficult as we picked up another 2 injuries, I will be looking for everyone to dig deep and put in performances that will give credit to you all,

There is still everything to play for, we can still make this our most successfully season.

At present we have a goal difference of plus 8 I would like this to go to double figures after Sunday and stay there

YOUR TARGET SHOULD BE FOR THE SEASON

 1-Cup Final

2-Quarter Finals

League Position 5th

Final 8 matches unbeaten

Goal difference of Double figures

THE SEASON IS NOT OVER

. -Vidal Sassoon

On Wednesday we had 99 hits on the site. The next two months are very important for you and the club,

The site is used to keep motivation and team spirit up through the week then come each game your head will be in the right place Professional sides will do this daily when they all meet up.

You can even have your say in the comment box or direct to me on mcintosh148@btinternet.com and I will print.

Everything positive that we do will make our goals and motivation easier If you google Greenfield royaloak we are at No.1 & 2 with Gary Cooney also mentioned for anyone who understands google that is some achievement

Sunday is the first of an 8 match run which will determine our season, We will be asking more of you than any Greenfield side before

We will be looking for leaders on the pitch who will draw from their experience, young legs to run till you drop and a strong physical presence in one word we will be looking for a TEAM of winners.

We will be taking each game one at a time starting with The Seal we have already beaten them twice this season, and they will be out to revenge those defeats,

They are a strong physical side who will try to bully you out of the game we will have to compete at that level but more important we will not be dragged into a kicking match, they have nothing to lose from bookings or sending offs we have.

We have been working on Motivation and team spirit but more important we have to be disciplined.

Shane was the perfect example on two occasions recently teams have tried to kick him out of the game and his response was perfect he scored two goals, we have strong physical players in the side that can compete at any level and I know they will.

When teams have little to play for you have to destroy what is motivating them, their motivation will be revenge; their occasion will be revenge, as previously we will play the game our motivation will last for 90 minutes theirs will go with each goal we score.

Once we start to dominate the game there overhaul motivation will start to disappear we must make our presence felt all around the pitch and don’t give them a chance to believe that this is a game they can win.

All that is at stake for us is 3 points your instructions are easy take the 3 points and move onto the next match against Ticknall.

We have then taken maximum points from the Seal this season that is what Champions are made of.

It’s lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believed in myself

You are all good enough

TODAYS QUOTATION

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

This is the last Day of the week that I planned for Motivation, We are going into a very hard run of games and only team spirit, and your motivation to win will see us through this.

Bryan and myself will give you all that are required to go onto the pitch to get the results needed but I will hold nothing back by saying that if just one member of the squad has the wrong mental attitude or lacks the motivation we will fail.

I have no doubts from any of you that this will happen, with the hard run in the side will change due to injuries, tactics or simply because one of you may not be available for selection,

But what ever side Bryan decides to put out I have 100% confidence in his selection.

His task is very difficult to keep you all fresh as well as keeping an eye on players who are close to suspension on Bookings, don’t make it harder by picking up silly and unnecessary bookings which could see us short I have been telling you all season just to play the game not the occasion

If you look at the big picture the task is enormous to go into a 13 unbeaten run will need everything and more, but that is what we are asking of you this will give us a Cup and Promotion,

We will take each game one at a time you will not be playing 13 matches one after the other they are days apart.

You will be prepared for each match, not 13 go out and play one game,

And I have the confidence that you are capable of achieving this All season we have worked hard on turning you into a motivated squad each time you cross that line onto the pitch the responsibility is now yours. Teams lose matches and teams win matches we are all a team all the squad including Bryan and myself no individual can win all these games, but one person and I include Bryan and myself with the wrong motivation and attitude will defeat us more than our opponents.

You all have the best preparation and tactics; we have worked hard on your mental strength and motivation, Your willingness to learn and try new tactics and you determination to win will see us through to the success we all deserve.

NO OUTSIDE INFLUENCE MUST BE ALLOWED TO MAKE US FAIL

Tomorrow I will cover what is required to win the first in this sequence Of our 8 match run

when you became a team

TODAYS QUOTATION

”When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when you team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing.” Bo Schembechler

On Tuesday I tried to get you to find out what motivates you as an individual and Yesterday I let you closer to myself and what motivates me before I start on Team motivation I would like to remind you of what I put this on the site after our defeat at Etwall early in the season

Over the coming week I will consider my position to carry on as your Manager as I am not sure that I can take you any further

This is only a small section taken from the blog but your response before our Derbyshire Cup game in September 2009 was very unexpected and if I go soft for a minute very moving, I had been working hard on Team moral but was concerned that I was failing,

To a Man you all took responsibility to never let that situation happen again Without you realising on that day you became a team and not a bunch of Individuals playing football,

Team spirit does not come with just putting on a kit and winning matches, Team spirit is all about everyone willing to act and fight for the same goal I also had a text from Bryan which I will print a small part I keep this on my phone even I get low and need motivating on occasions.

“Just seen the website players need to look at them selves, you have bought me up not to walk away this is my last year and I want to continue if you pack up the team will fold”

“That reaction from you all ranks as high as any memories that I have from Football”

Team motivation was what happened that week, In November of 2008 in my first match against Yoxhall we went on to an unbeaten four match run, I remember Seb coming up to me after the game and saying now for number 5 that was the Day that I Knew if I was at the Club next season he would be your Captain.

( never say anything to me I always remember)

And then forward to September 2009 you had become a team there has been a few additional players who have joined and all have bought something different to the side except for one thing they are all winners, but now your common goal is to be successful that is your motivation. Sides cannot improve until they truly become a team

“Finding good players is easy. Getting them to play as a team is another story.”

 Casey Stengel

Now you are benefiting, you are prepared to take on new formations, new tactics you have made huge progress since that first match against Yoxhall and the reason is you are now a team that has the same motivation to succeed,

In Bryans untimely injury that has possibly ended his football, he has bought the same steel to the touch-line as when he was playing. You were always a good side but my aim was to create a team into a highly motivated winners

As I said earlier with 11 individual motivations and 1 team motivation your commitment will turn into victories

 Dave

what ever it takes

Today’s quotation

I always felt that my greatest asset was not my physical ability, it was my mental ability.

 -Bruce Jenner

What has motivated me for you to be successful?

When I started playing football in the Burton and District League over 30 years ago I was told that the league did not like sides from the other side of the bridge to do well,

I never took a lot of notice as I always believed that any side I played in always had a good chance of winning.

 Now the serious stuff

I don’t believe in too many coincidences I am convinced that if there is an opportunity to see Greenfield fail there will not be many to help us.

3 SEASONS  3 SEMI FINALS  3 ON OPPONENTS GROUND

I don’t believe on that amount of bad luck, this is my motivation, to give you every opportunity to upset as many people who want you to fail, this is not sour grapes as I have now seen this first hand.

The only way to upset these people is to go out and win as many matches and cups and league titles as we can.

We are doing this when teams are beginning to question our methods, I have no intention or even the will to win popularity contests,

And teams we beat have a brilliant knack of having players missing when we beat them,

How often this season have some of the opponents better players gone off or been substituted or even not been there for the return match,

How often have opponents shown interest in wanting to join us the ones who do are winners players who don’t want to be beaten.

How often when sides have beaten us it was their Cup Final that is how far you have come you are now the side that the so-called big sides want to beat. The team at the top of the Premier League couldn’t handle or understand what we were doing, fortunately they got a penalty and we were down to 10 men, when one of their players turned into Mike Tyson he saw the game out more bad luck I don’t think so

To over come this you must always remain a team and stick together Sides have bought in ringers, called games off when they had a weakened side.

My motivation was to make you winners, but I am afraid that with this comes a dislike from Authority and Opponents.

If this worries you, get used to it will get worse and then eventually you will get the respect you deserve.

I can live with this I always sleep well at night

Go out and enjoy these moments the more we are disliked the more successful we are becoming.

When I look back at my Football career I can remember the defeats more than the victories, I hated to lose when asked what I would have done to win the answer was simple

“what ever it takes”

And what would I do to make you winners

 “what ever it takes”

 Dave
